Recruitment FAQs (RecruitNZ)
Recruitment is complex, full of steps that can easily be missed and risk compliance. We take care of everything, from finding the right people to managing interviewing, testing, checks, and settlement. Because we have experts across the full process, nothing slips through the cracks.
Yes. We specialise in recruitment from the Philippines, where we have strong networks and proven results.
We can recruit across many sectors, but we most frequently place roles in trades, construction, civil, manufacturing, logistics, agriculture, and hospitality. These are areas where New Zealand employers often struggle to find reliable local candidates, and where overseas recruitment can make the biggest impact.
Beyond skills, we look at work ethic, motivators and drivers, values, and personality fit. We assess carefully to make sure the people you hire will fit well in your business and stay long term.
We can arrange professional trade testing, thorough reference and work history checks, and psychometric assessments such as Extended DISC. We provide guidance on what would be industry standard based on the roles you are hiring as not one size fits all.
On average it takes around 12-16 weeks from starting recruitment to arrival in New Zealand. This is a ballpark figure only and it can vary based on Immigration NZ settings. Visa processing is outside of our control and can cause delays, but we keep you updated throughout the process.
Filipino workers are known for their loyalty, adaptability, and strong work ethic. Many are highly skilled, and New Zealand’s culture of fairness and respect makes it a good fit for long-term success. We have found the Filipino workers are by far the most sought after nationality in New Zealand.
Immigration FAQs (VisaAide)
Yes. To employ migrants under the Accredited Employer Work Visa system, your business must first be accredited with Immigration New Zealand.
Employer accreditation is the first step in the Accredited Employer Work Visa process. It confirms your business is compliant and responsible. Once accredited, you can apply for job checks and then support your candidate’s visa application.
There are three types:
- Standard accreditation (up to 5 workers)
- High-volume accreditation (6 or more workers)
- Triangular accreditation (labour hire or outsourcing businesses)
We help you decide which option suits your business both now and long term and guide you through the application process.
Once your business is accredited, you apply for a job check, once that is approved, you are issued with tokens. These tokens are what is used to apply for your new recruits Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV). We manage the requirements and communication with Immigration New Zealand to give your application the best chance of success.
Yes. In New Zealand our work is carried out by Licensed Immigration Advisers. Australian visas are handled by one of our Australian Registered Migration Agents, who are qualified and authorised under Australian law.
Immigration rules change often. We monitor updates daily and adjust your application or advice as needed, keeping you compliant and informed.
Processing times vary widely depending on the type of visa and Immigration New Zealand’s workload. We provide a guide based on recent trends, but it is always subject to change.
HR and Compliance FAQs (ConsultingHQ + EMS Hub)
ConsultingHQ offers outsourced HR tailored to your needs. Services include employment agreements, compliance reviews, performance management, HR strategy and ongoing HR partnership plans.
It starts with the People Inc Scorecard. You complete a short questionnaire that measures how your current HR systems and practices stack up. You’ll receive a report and score straight away, which includes action points, and then one of our experts will follow up with a call to talk through your results. From there, we map out a practical roadmap focusing on the highest risk (to protect you) and an implementation plan of what we can do to help, how and why to ensure your HR systems are compliant and ready for growth.
If HR is taking up too much of your time, you are worried about compliance, or you have unresolved staffing challenges, an outsourced partner can help. We provide structure, advice, and hands-on support so you can focus on running your business. We also focus on the proactive HR, so we implement HR foundations into your business if you are set for scaling and need support on best practise.
Yes. We advise on employment law, performance management, and dispute resolution. Our focus is on keeping you compliant and helping you navigate employment-related risks.
